important people in maya society
The people that were most important were mostly rulers. Unfortunately there is not much info on the important Maya people, most of the records were destroyed or we do not understand what they mean. I could only find two people mentioned, and very limited info that came with these people.
1) Pakal the great- He was an emperor of the Maya city-state Palenque. he ascended to the thrown at the age of 12, and lived to the age of 80. He was proceeded by his mother, and she handed the throne off to him when he officially reached maturity.
2) Kawill- He was one of the rulers that ruled over Tikal. He was one of the ones who brought up a lot of the structures in Tikal that are still standing today.
